At Selam Coffee House, our story begins in the highlands of Eastern Uganda, where the rich volcanic soils of Mount Elgon nurture some of the world’s finest Arabica coffee. Working closely with smallholder and indigenous farmers across Mbale and its surrounding communities, we maintain direct relationships that ensure authenticity, traceability, and shared value at every stage of the journey.
We partner with these farming communities not only as buyers, but as collaborators—supporting traditional cultivation methods while introducing structured processes that enhance quality and consistency. Each harvest is carefully aggregated from multiple small farms, where beans of varying sizes and characteristics are meticulously sorted, graded, and classified according to international standards. This deliberate approach allows us to prepare coffee for both premium export markets and large-scale industrial roasting and packaging, without compromising the integrity of its origin.
